Lamorna Valley Group exhibition at Lamorna Village Hall

Lamorna Valley, home to the Lamorna School of Artists in the early 20th century, is still a thriving community.  In the 1960s a group of enthusiastic people transformed the redundant village school, built in 1881, into a community centre.  Lamorna Village Hall offers a variety of events and classes throughout the year.  It is also used by St. Buryan, Lamorna and Paul Parish Council for their meetings and the Lamorna Society for its AGM .   The Village Hall Committee organises a series of autumn and winter talks and a Christmas Fair.   The Hall is available for private hire.      

After many years of serving the community, Lamorna Village Hall was looking very tired and out of date.  Thanks to much hard work by the Committee and a great deal of support from the community of Lamorna, enough funds were raised to bring the kitchen and toilets right up-to-date and install broadband.  Most of the building work was completed during the Covid pandemic, when the Hall was closed to the public.  In July 2021, the centenary year of village halls, the Hall finally reopened with a celebratory event and an exhibition by the Lamorna Kerr Art Group.   The progress of Lamorna Village Hall, from its early beginnings in the 1960s to its reopening in the 21st century, is celebrated by an entry in the 

The Hall has a capacity of up to 50 people seated or 80 standing.  There is a raised stage and also a kitchen, central heating, broadband, toilets and a car park. The Hall is licensed for the sale of alcohol.  Hire charges are £15 per session (morning, afternoon, evening). There is a discounted rate for bookings of 5 days or more.
