Celebrating the Queen's
Platinum Jubilee

Over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend, events were held at the hall to mark the unique and historic occasion of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

The sun shone as the community came together for an exhibition by the Lamorna Kerr Art Group and Valley Artists Past and Present and a Jubilee Tea Party.

The exhibition 'Celebrate' by the Lamorna Kerr Art Group and Valley Artists Past and Present began with an opening and private view on the eve of the Jubilee celebrations. The exhibition opened on Thursday 2nd June and was open daily over the Jubilee bank holiday until Monday 6th June.

The exhibition contained many beautiful artworks from local artists.

On Friday 3 June, the community came together for a Jubilee Tea Party. All food for the party was provided by the community with people 'bringing a plate or platter'.

Scones and cakes were baked, sandwiches made, cups of tea made and glasses of Pimms poured as over 50 people came together at the hall to celebrate.

Our thanks go to the organiser, to everyone who contributed food, helped on the day and especially to those that came along and marked the occasion.

'A fabulous spread and a very convivial community afternoon'
