GARDEN SOCIETY:
Forthcoming talks for the Peninsula Garden Society.
Wednesday March 19 at 7.30pm: Our Family and Their Gardens, presented by Charles Fox.
Wednesday April 16 at 7.30pm: New Found Plants, presented by Dr Neil Armstrong.
Wednesday May 21 at 7.30pm: Conserving and Promoting Beneficial Insects in our Gardens, presented by Emeritus Professor Jim Whitfield, entomologist from the University of Illinois.
All talks are held at Lamorna Village Hall. Doors Open at 7pm, talks start at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served after the talk, and there will also be a raffle.

EVENTS FOR 2025:
The Committee of the Lamorna Village Hall has arranged the following events in 2025 and hopes to add more at a later date. We hope to see you there.
DATE TBC: A talk by our MP, Andrew George. Andrew will talk about the reality of being an MP, the workings of parliament, the House of Commons as a work environment and much more. The talk will start at 7pm and is a free event. Doors will open at 6.30pm. For tickets please email liz800@btinternet.com.
Sunday April 13: Spring Cream Tea in the Village Hall and Easter Egg Hunt on the Millennium Triangle. Starts at 3pm in the Hall. Details to follow.

YOGA:

Coffee Morning:
The first coffee get-together of 2025 is this Thursday, February 6, from 11am until 12 noon in the Village Hall. Everyone is most welcome for coffee/tea and homemade cake, and an ideal opportunity to meet up with friends and neighbours. We look forward to seeing you there.These get-togethers are now just on the first Thursday in the month.

CHRISTMAS FAIR:
The ever-popular Lamorna Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday November 30 in Lamorna Village Hall from 2pm until 4.30pm. As always, there will be a selection of everyone’s favourite stalls, including Christmas decorations, hand-made gifts, bling and accessories, cakes, tombola, and the bric-a-brac stall, plus local art for sale, a hamper raffle and grand raffle with loads of prizes. Refreshments, including mulled wine and mince pies, as well as hot food will also be available. Be sure not to miss it, as past years have shown it to be well worth a visit. Proceeds go to the upkeep of the Hall.
Donations of cakes, tombola and raffle prizes, bric-a-brac (please only good-quality items and no electrics or books), bling and items for the Christmas stall can be left at the hall on Monday 25 November in the morning from 10am, and Friday 29 December from 2pm. If you need items collected or need any further information about the fair, please contact Phillie Witt - pwitt@hotmail.co.uk. Many thanks for everyone's amazing support for the Christmas Fair. It is very much appreciated.

THE COAST IS CLEAR:
Wednesday October 23, Lamorna Village Hall: local author and journalist Mike Sagar Fenton will be giving a talk on The Coast is Clear – the Truth about Cornish Smuggling. Mike is the author of several books, including Penzance – the Biography, Penlee – the Loss of a Lifeboat and The Rosebud and the Newlyn Clearances. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm.
